Can you please tell me the major differences between the above? Why they have fought over the years etc. Also the Pope, what is the significance of him, and why??

The problems of fighting between Catholics and Protestants has very little to do with faith, and a huge amount more to do with politics. My father spent a large amount of his time in the army on active service in N Ireland, and I have no great love for the principles of the IRA, but I have a very deep Catholic faith. I see no relation between that faith and either of the sides involved in the violent sectarian conflict.

The major religions have for many years taught that when we die, a separate part of us survives death and goes to heaven, there to stay for ever. This teaching negates what Jesus taught, both verbally and practically. He taught about the resurrection promised at Revelation 20; 12&13. The apostle Paul confirmed it at Acts 24;`15. Therefor the teaching is false. And going back to year dot, Adam and Eve were never promised an ongoing spiritual life in heaven. There future was looking after the earth. The spiritual life of 144,000 [ Rev. 7;4 & 14;1`] is part of God's 'cure' to rectifty the penalty of death started by the disobedience of Adam and Eve. Some teach that Jesus is God himself, in another form. this is also denied by the Bible at Proverbs 8; 22-31. God had no beginning. Jesus was his very first creation, before even the universe and stars and planets. Before even the earth. The Pope has a lot to answer for in teaching the Trinity concept, as the word itself does not occur in the Bible. And Jesus never claimed to be co-equal to God. And part of this is to teach that the holy spirit [ God's power]\ is a co-equal individual/person , calling it a ghost, when in fact it is God's power, a force, with no separate thinking ability. It is God's TOOL, that he uses to get things done.
