Are Claude Berri,s film versions of Marcel Pagnol,s Jean de Florette and Manon des Sources the most successfull film adaptions of these classic books in French cinema history?

as far as I know, Berri's Jean de Florette is the only adaptation of the book. Pagnol did film a version of Manon himself, though:
