didnt know where to put this so i put it here in the hope someone has had similiar barriers ?
i am trying to trace a very old friend- i am in my late 20s now and the person in question was my social worker for years when i was younger and helped me through some really bad times-
anyway i have recently moved back to the area in question-i went to see if he still worked at the centre but they told me he has retired- i would really like to find him and the place does not have any contact info for him,( as he has retired) any ideas how i can try to find him ? as i would really like to see him again after all he helped me with - i have put his name into google and the name of the centre but nothing, i have also tried the phonebook but he is not listed ? as he is old now he probably doesnt use the internet so i dont think i have many options
any ideas what i can try ??? any help will be greatly appreciated - thanks to all who have taken the time to read this.....
If you can remember the name of his work or department address at the time, you could try friends reunited. You could ask the people registered as having worked there if they know him, and if they do find him, he would have to contact you, rather than the other way round.
Hi difficult for you - would you be able to write to him and ask his old office to forward your letter to his last known address - it would then be up to him if he wanted to contact you.
Sometimes though you just have to let people go - I know what you mean you want to find someone who helped you but you may have to accept that you can't do it this time.
You could try putting a notice in the Personal column of the local newspaper in the area in which he lives - if you know where that is.
Also, if he was a Social Worker he was possibly employed by the local Council and their Personnel Department might be able to help you..
