Why do some people say the Holocaust never happened,on what do they base such a statement???

In a word; Anti-Semitism... I've never engaged in a debate with someone purporting the postion of holocaust denial that wasn't, at the root of all, a Jew hater. They believe they can better defend their position if they take away any sympathetic understanding of why Jews adhere to the national motto of "Never Again"...

Thanks,so it is basically people who despise the Jewish people or are admirers of Adolph Hitler,i thought these people might of had physical evidence to make such a statement..

Irvine went to Auschwich (sp) and tried to prove that the residue from the Zyclone B used to poison the unfortunate inmates was in fact some kind of building material, He also suggested that some prisoners thanked the SS guards as they were released from the concentration camps for looking after them so well, shook their hands and expressed a` willingness to visit families in "happier times"

Thanks John,i followed your link,also read up on a few other things,Irvine obviously an idiot,or just trying to publicise his tosh,and gain infamy...needs to get himself somewhere to live now i guess...I am only 35,but was taught much about world war 2,also virtually all the other wars...My kids are not taught it at school,it seems to me,like Germany itself too ,want to brush the Holocaust under the carpet and hope we all forget....Yes we all must move on but lest we shouldnt forget..

stevie, my Degree is History, I done a few essays on Irvine, he is very very intelligent, and arrogant to boot, even when presented with ireffutable (sp)? he twist it round to his way of thinking, he is the darling of the neo nazi's in Germany, Austria + here in the UK also the USA I believe.
I visited the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem two years ago, it was a very moving experience, there is one display, it,s a 10 ft hole in the floor with a glass covering and it is full of shoes taken from victims of the gas chambers and as i was looking at it I remember thinking how can people like Irving et al deny this?

I had someone very close at the Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp. I was there 5 days after it was over-run by the Americans. She had been there for 10 months and died 6 weeks after release, a normal girl of 22 weighing five and a half stone at rescue, despite everything that the heaven-sent American surgeons, doctors and nursing staff could do. It happened alright., don't you ever doubt it, and it was all done by Germans.

There was a documentary on History channel the other day,i never knew the bombing raids on London were so bad,in the programme it also showed the technology the Germans were developing,so bombers could stay in the air longer and carry more bombs,they wanted to bomb New York....Do you think Hitler would have stopped at Europe,or did he want the world!!!
