Militarism?
Hitler once said "you can always be assured of one thing, women will always vote for law, order and a uniform."
Which is three things in my book!
A Roman general (his name escapes me) once said, "In order to have peace you must prepare for war"

Si vis pacem, para bellum (If you want peace, prepare for war!) -- Flavius Vegetius Renatus (ca 390 AD)
As someone who had to enlist and be engaged in attacks against the enemy in WW2, I am wondering what you are getting at. Are you questioning the amount of money which is allocated to our armed forces so that no aggressive nation would consider acting against us, knowing full well that they would get a 'bloody nose' . The present government pays lip service to supporting our armed forces but hasn't given them the kind of support they need. It is a wonder the Chiefs of Staff haven't rebelled!
