hi bigmamma, thank you , i am well past.
Arssepedia is another Mil site
no 8 regt were not in oxford bks , when i left it was the 2nd battalion the Anglian regt (the poachers) i was down on the first right past the guardroom, past the cookhouse and i was down there 31 fld amb ramc.
By the way, in the U.S. it's the Congressional Medal of Honor, seen here: http://www.medalofhonor.com/
Got it,

when I first joined 1RS after basic, I was coming back from RHQ and didn't see the RSM was doing sword drill with the junior Officers at the far end of the parade square, He shouted me over and yell at me as I hadn't saluted the Officers (you remember how big that Square was)? He made me march around that fcuking square and salute EVERY tree, there were millions of them, took me about an hour.
Question Author
Is that the equivelent to the Victoria Cross Clanad?
Ok pull up a sandbag and swing that light, i went to dorbam (spell) on ex, the RSM was named long (ramc) he was so busy watching me messing about he fell over a tree root , the tree had been felled but the root remained, i pi**ed my self laughing so he made me did up the root and take it to his tent when i had finished , it took me ages and i missed diner , what a liberty!
Lol
Got to love the Razzman!!!

I c r a pp ed in the in-tray in his office one night when I was on guard in Redford Bks in Edinburgh, the whole Bn was confined for 3 days (including the pads) until he found the culprit (he never did).
BTW Dorbam was a pain in the rear, either up to your nuts in mud or it was a dust bowl ;-(
this is turning into a naughty boys conffesional, I wrote in the key book that the rsm is a wa*ker, i meant to cross it out by the morning but i forgot, the same rsm (long) always checked the book first thing in the morning, it was't long (no pun intended) before he sent for me, he said you were duty driver last night were you not ? i said (standing to attention) yes sir, he then opened the book and pointing to a columb of signatures said this is your writingisn't it , i of course said yes sir , he then pointed to the comment that i had made and said well then this is yours as well isn't it i faked shock and denied it , i then blamed my mate pte Thom , who had left that morning for a three week medical cover so he said i will get back to you but he never did.
we used to do floatation training on dorbam in 432s did you have them , we had mk1s at first but then got mk2s they were much better as they did not catch fire every five minutes.
was the ponderosa still on dorbam when you were there ?
Lucky man!! bullet proof or what?

I left 1RS after the Gulf, I was p1ssed off with getting the blame for every bad thing that happened, IE a fight broke out on a coach in Belgium, the Adjt reckoned I started it, it would have been a miricle if I had seeing as I was in BATUS at the time, not only a diffrent country but about 7,000 miles away on another flaming continent
(rant over).

I went back in 18 months later as RAMC ended up acting S/Sgt
432? Loved them, I was a driver MK2, we had the MK1 in Canada, it was great, the petrol ones you could start them up, put your foot on the accelerator, release the steering stick things, get out open up the back, make yourself a brew on the B.V get back in and wait on the thing moving
I went to soltau training area on exersise and when i arrived, our reme ssgt was in charge untill the main party arrived , he saw me and pte Thom and said i am not having both of you here one of you will have to go back to munster, it was frikin miles, anyway he sent me back , when i got back and got up for parade the next day the rear party oc sent for me and said i was going to be charged , i asked what with and he said i don't know yet i will let you know later, he sent for me again later on and said apparently you have done nothing wrong , the reme ssgt just could not tollerate two first class bast*rds being there with him in charge. what a cheek.

did you go to the ramc reunion that they had recently?
take your pick

fit army boys are here
mk1s were crap they kept catching fire and you had to keep opening the bloody inspection hatch 14 bolts i think to put it out, also the exhaust running along the top was dangerous.and you were forever doing pack changes.
Too bl00dy right I'd have done the same!!
I got charged for calling the 2 I/C a fcuking idiot, we used natural cam on the 432 because the German forestry workers had left it lying around so I got my sect to use it. The 2I/C (a complete w4nker, as they usually are) + the RSM came over and asked "Cpl L....t where's your veh"?
"Over there Sir" I said pointing
"Oh" he said, "you're not allowed to cut down branches take then off and use your cam net, that just looks like a 432 hiding under a bush"
I replied "So it's better for it to look like a 432 hiding under a cam net then"? and whipsered ever so softly "fcuking tw4t" unfortunatly the RSM had ears like a fruit bat. Soon as endex was called I'm standing in front of the C.O getting extras

I was'nt at the last RAMC 'old + bold' as i clashed with Mrs 4GS work do but I'm hoping to be at the next one
harryshaw, thanks i never look at you tube links, but the picture look a little like me:-)
