GOAT SUCKER

does any one remember a myth about something called THE GOAT SUCKER? its a small monkey like thing that has hollow teeth which it uses to suck the blood of small farmyard animals such as goats and sheep. any websites on the occult or myths would be really useful. ta!

I don't know of a monkey by this name, but this is the country name given to nocturnal birds, Nightjar in the UK and Whip-poor-will in the US. In ancient times it was thought they sucked the milk from goats at night, but what it was doing was taking advantage of the horde of insects that surround animals particularly on hot and sticky nights.
