Something I meant to ask a couple of days ago but kept forgetting about; Why were air cadets at the trafalgar parade on sunday?

Airplanes weren't even invented then let alone help in anyway towards winning the battle.

So what you are saying is that because aircraft had not been invented in 1805, the third branch of the armed forces, the Royal Air Force, should not help celebrate this victory? You are now in serious danger of not only looking personally ridiculous, but also putting the various cadet organisations in the same boat. Quit while you're ahead, if you ever were.
Hmm -fair point Molly.I hadnt thought about that.Have you tried googling -looks like you have rattled a cage (ex RAF prob lol)

But if air cadets randomly turned up, and it was only a handful of norwich ones that turned up, how come more didn't and there were no army cadets either?
Question Author
Mike air cadets could do a battle of britain parade. . . .
Spot on, Dris! :)
How would we know, molly? email the organisers!
Question Author
Sorry mike, i jsut thought it was odd, and it looked a bit silly with less than 10 air cadets and over 100 sea cadets and about 40 scc instructors and navy personnel.
The only consolation I derive from this is that very few members of the cadet organisations actually progress to full membership of the armed forces, otherwise I would despair.
Question Author
Why is that a consolation?
Cos i dont think by his answers that mike likes you much Molly.Welcome to the random world of AB ....
If I had to explain the obvious you might take offence, so let's just leave it there for tonight.

Mike i would join the navy but I wouldn't pass the medical test. Even if i went the route of finishing a-levels then joining as an officer you still have to pass the medical don't you.
I suspect you would Molls so good on you for doing what you are capable of !!
Not to mention the intelligence test.

If my uncle didn't get into the forces because of asthma and flat feet I doubt I would with those aswell as spina bifida, hydrocephalus and the wierd thing that's wrong with my foot. Even officers have to pass the medical don't they.
Anyone else want to take over the helm? I've just wet myself!
Guess you could be in the forces but as a civilian role, then.
molly, you will find a career that you will be very suitable for and you will enjoy.
Marine biologist, then, molly, is that still your aim?
Question Author
I want to be a marine biologist and have wanted to since I went scuba diving which msut have been when I was 12.
