My toilet bowl has become stained. usually Domestos and a brush do the trick but not this time. Can anyone recommend another product which may be more effective?

A cork? :)

Bleach just bleaches the stains, get a scouring pad and some gloves and get in there.

That's what I was thinking. Sort of hoped there might be an easier way, but it looks like elbow grease.
Hi mike. Put a good scoop of biological wash powder down it before you go to bed tonight. A good flush in the morning and it will be all sparkling and clean
Harpic lime scale remover is brilliant.I did my parents outside loo which has been neglected and it worked for that.
Domestos to a charmingly entitled product called 'Grot Buster' and it's wonderful.. get's grout sparkly white, so I should imagine it should shift your toilet stains... Got mine from Morrisons, but possibly more widely available...

I don't use wash powder, just liquid, but I'll try the Harpic. Thanks.
mike - is bowl moulded in ceramic or plastic?
shame, it works really well
Are you in a heavy lime area? You may need a cleaner with limescale removing properties. The limescale cakes the pan and then gets stained. If you can remove the limescale problem solved.
Apparently Coca Cola does it. Imagine what it does to your stomach!
I like your tip Mazie and I am going to buy some biological powder to try it out. For my clothes I only use non bio as I am allergic to the bio.

Ceramic bowl.
It works really well grasscarp. I bought an old cast iron bath with some staining on it (for a really good price) nothing would shift it so I emptied a half box of Bio washing powder in it, left it overnight The next day all the staining had gone.
so, now I just bung it down the toilets once a week, makes life a bit easier
Oh and I meant to say for the bath and toilets I buy the Aldi Bio, large box for £3.25
Ceramic is probably less easily damaged by scouring.

I'm sure problems I get are from limescale. One would think the tablets you can get for your cistern would prevent that.
I will go to Aldi!
vinegar and a scourer then use a limescale toilet cleaner every few days
Mike - some domestos and some scrubbing
ooh.. seemed to have donned my cape of inviability again..
