Fridge/freezer Problem, Any Ideas

We have a Bosch fridge/freezer, about 4 years old. We've just been on holiday for four weeks and when our daughter came over last weekend the alarm was buzzing and she had to dump all the contents and clean the drawers. On our return, a few days later, we found the alarm buzzing and neither the fridge nor freezer cooling but all the indicator lights were set at the correct temperatures.
I arranged for an engineer to come out but as I was taking she blackened shelves out I caught a button which switched it off altogether, When I flicked it back on, it started to work and has done so for 48 hours!
Any ideas about what might have happened? Just curiosity really, I've saved the cost of an engineer's visit. A similar thing happened with the washer, no power at all, switched all the power to the house off and on and it was fine!

Maybe it was an Act of God - he's fixed it for you LOL
Or maybe a ghost in the shape of an electrician, plumber etc.

Things like that (not many mind you) have went like that - I go to call for an electrician a plumber and everything starts to work. It may go out next time meantime save up for next time LOL

Er,yes, Er, maybe
Sounds like you found the "reset" switch, Zebo.

Something caused it go operate and shut the freezer down. Possibly, the gubbins (compressor etc) have overheated.

It may well be ok now.......... but on the other hand.....
