I thought a corgi was a dog.
Probably rather helpful digging trenches,
Could be tam.
All our streets in the area are being/have been dug up over the last 2 months- Conraid and Cadent must be making a fortune. All driveways blocked- had to park on rough ground- and left loads of mess in my garage (thick dust everywhere) but I suppose it was worth it.
Anyway, I'm not aware of people being told to get boilers fixed. I think they are under a duty to tell you. You can go anywhere for a quote/boiler check to make sure
Why would it be a scam though? They are not suggesting you buy from them or use their plumber
Of course if the boiler leaks because of what they did you should be able to claim compensation.

Cadent left green paper report suggesting 08 for plumbers. Everything worked b4 they bukked it up.
It hasn't been CORGI for some years, now the Gas Safe Register so that makes the warning sound iffy.

It was verbal reco for corgi but thanx mams. They felt pipes in boiler & found green mould from copper - erode they say.
I'd complain to Cadent although I'm pretty sure they will say they were simply pointing out an existing problem. You could then always get an independent reliable plumber to assess the problem and cause and then take them to court if it seems Cadent were responsible.
I think Conraid (and others) just do the pipework and Cadent do the gas connections and check your boiler still works and there ate no internal gas leaks.
I think they also check for leaks before they started- in which case they would have told you before they started- or maybe wouldn't even have done the work until the leak was repaired.
When was your boiler last checked?
I get a such a kick out of all these silly threads.
Brexit ? The EU must be thrilled to be rid of you useless ***.

Checked about 3months ago. They cut gas on street b4 working on my prop & didnt check boiler prior to works.

Azer - dont swear
I don't see how they damaged your boiler- they just change the piping on the road and up to your meter/input and connections- in our case in the garage (boiler is in the house) .

Its a big Ferolli boiler & I asked gas men to light awkward pilot - hence oooos & rrrrs
OK, since you now have developed such sensitivity, which I haven't seen here before, but I can understand why.
Let's deal with the "workmanship" the UK is so well known for. [insert emoji in hysterics]
More examples in any tech thread. Remember Lucas Electrics ? I had a couple of vehicles with those.

And now boilers ! Oh right , you poor folk have to put a shilling in the meter to get heat. What century is this again?
Let's face it. What on earth did the EU ever gain from the UK?
What The Funicular
Apparently billions of pounds per year AZardoz.
Possibly not much else.

Looks like somebody's had another all nighter on the electric soup. :-)
I wish ;-)
