What is the maximum Kw load on a 40 amp fuse?

Power in watts = Volts x Amps. 230volts x 40amps = 9200watts, or 9.2kw
But you allow for diversity. e.g. If its for an electric hob and cooker and they are 5kw each say. Your not going to have all the rings on the hob on full ever are you? And your not going to have the electric grille on full, and the oven on full either. There is an equasion for it. The Load maximum demand may be 10kw but after you have allowed for diversity you could end up with a 9kw load. Also you allow 5amp for a cooker socket. Thats if this is about a cooker. You maybe installing a shower!?
