can you wash a chamois leaher in a washing machine, or will it ruin it.

Only washed one and that was a few years ago.

Hot handwash in strong detergant, good rinse then soaked it overnight in a bucket of cold water to which I added a couple of tablespoons of olive oil.
Worked a treat.

May be able to buy a special cleaner these days.
