leaking pipe
i have a shower pipe in an alcove which has a continous small leak -however it is phsically impossible to get any tools or even bandage to tighten the nut.
someone suggested turning off water supply , blowing water taps to force out any residue and then gloss paint leak area
Is this a good idea or any other things that could be "painted pasted" over leak?

You can shut off the water to the suspect pipe so that it is empty, and you get some of this paste, make sure the pipe around the leak IS DRY. Then press as much as you can around the area. It may take a few hours to set. I mended a leak in the petrol pipe on my car, it held for four years, I scrapped the car because the cam belt broke. This should be ok for water, as petrol is harder to seal. good luck.
