Replacing faulty Heating timer
I have an Oil fired central heating system and it has a SMC timer which appears to be faulty. The timer is the old fashioned type whicjh has a 24 hour clock face with 2 on/off positions and either water only or water and CH. I wish to replace this with an electronic type timer and would like to know which type I could use. I understand that it depends on the backplate?. I have seen some timers advertised with a universal backplate, would anyone know if one of those would do the job. They are advertised in the Tool Station catalogue at about 28.
