re-pointing gun
please can someone tell me the right mix for using a hand held re-pointing gun. because when i mix up the sand and cement it wont go through the gun. thanks

try a wet as possible mix with washing up liquid as an aid to smoothness /consistency but i would,nt hold your breath on it working.it seems like a good idea but its hard to put into practice
at home i resorted to a trowel to point up, putting in a DPC at low level ,on my knees and shoulders for ages.in the end i found it easier to use a semi dry mix that i allowed to go off by moisture in the air.it packed better in the joint with less shrinkage or cracking as the courses above settled
