Can I claim ?

I have Halifax home insurance, our first year with them but we havent made any claim for over 4 yearsto anyone.
I have a black marble "wok" type bathroom/basin sink and it got blocked, I tried to unblock it with standing water but it didnt work, our local ironmaanger recommended something much stronger, well it caused a load of sludge to come back up into the basin during the night and now the sink is still blocked the brass ring around the plughole has turned pink and the outer layer/ layers inside the basin have become corroded.
I know I caused the damage but its accidental.
what chance do I have to claim for a new sink [ not black marble hey are horrendous to keep clean[.

Phone your insurance company and ask them. Have you got cover for accidental damage?

they were brilliant when I made a claim about 7 years ago I had only been with them about 5 months if that and they sent someone round it was water damage and it was made very easy - I hate the Halifax bank normally but their insurance was great then
