SECURITY TAG

Hi didnt know where to put this Q - so i thought here is as good as any.
Came out of Matalan earlier and then when i got home - the jumper i had bought still has the plastic security tag attatched and i have no clue how to get it off? i am not going back as the petrol will be more than the jumper so any ideas? i cant cut it cos its half way up the seam and would leave a gaping hole?

is it similar to ones used by any store near you? maybe if you went in to them with the receipt? I did the same thing once with an item from a stationers....didn't get home with it as it set off the alarm in another shop. I showed my receipt and they took it off with their device.

Hmm? maybe but its a bit late now timewise and i wanted to wear it later - can hardly go out with a big plastic thing attached can i lol thank you woof gang i am off to find a chisel

done it - hammer chisel - now off to get needle and cotton to sew up big hole

You were lucky,some of these security tags have within them a small container of indelible purple dye.
Any attempt to break/remove these tags results in the person and surrounding area being sprayed with the dye!
A hole is a small price to pay.
