Transit Bolts for washingf machine

I am moving shortly and I haven't got transit bolts for my washing machine,do I need to buy some or can the machine go without..I will be moving 80 miles away.

If you carry it upright .. it should come to no harm. Easily done with two people lifting..!

Easily done? I've recently had a new Miele washer delivered which weighs 96 kg and the two delivery blokes didn't find it easy at all! They certainly couldn't have carried it upright. Trouble is that all the transit bolts / transit systems are different and you may well have difficulty getting the correct ones anyway. Best of luck with that.

I've moved loads of times and never kept the bolts. Last machine was about 4 years old...put into storage...and then given away. Two years later it's still working.

Sorry ... should have said ... ' If your machine happens to be a fairly standard domestic machine it should come to no harm' ... usually lifted easily by two people.

On the other hand if you happen to be moving a commercial machine out of your laundrette... it is not as easily done..!

If you turn the machine onto its back, which is a good position for carrying it, stuff cushions or something similar around the drum and weight so a to stop it wobbling about. When the machine is placed in the transport, stand it up on it's base. Remember to take out the wedging material when the machine is placed in its new position.!
