Best foundation? Primers?
Need a new make up routine! What's the best foundation you have ever had? I don't want a really heavy feel as to clog up pores but something quite light, but still gives you some coverage. I'm talking you can buy it in boots type products here by the way!! I head Maybelline Superstay 24hr is amazing, is it? Also Rimmel Recover foundation looks good but it seems you can't buy this anymore? Does using a primer help alot? What exactly does it do?
Also, do you think applying liquid foundations with a brush or fingers is best?
I'm thinking of going for .. liquid foundation and instead of a coloured powder ontop, just a translucent one to look more natural? Are they any good or really a no-no?

I have found my favourite in GOSH X-ceptional wear foundation (only available at superdrug) but I think it may be too heavy if your just looking for a light one. Maybelline are really good for foundation and I would say that the Dream Satin liquid one is the best from them. I also know that there's a new Max Factor one out.. Weightless something or other. I've not tried it but it does sound really good. Personally, i'm not too keen on Rimmel foundations.. I have however used their translucent powder for years!
As for applying the foundation, I usually use my fingers cos I think it easier to blend as you've got the heat from your hands. If i'm going out though I would use a foundation brush.. I wouldn't like the hassle of cleaning it every few days lol.
Also I think if you're just looking for a light foundation you should steer clear of primer. It is mainly for smoothing out fine lines, to even out skin tone etc. I have only ever found one primer that actually does these things but it does make your face feel quite caked.
Hope that helped you :) xx

Watch layering up too much and using something heavy as you're so young.
The best product I've found is Clarins Flash Beauty Balm but I only use it sparingly on special occasions as I try and keep my makeup lighter normally to stop my skin getting clogged up. it just refreshes my face and makes a nice base for makeup.
I tried a foundation brush but find my fingers blend it easier. I also found you lose foundation in the brush itself and there is the cleaning burden if you want to keep if fresh and clean.
I find using a large blusher brush to lightly dust powder on keeps it lighter and still sets my makeup without caking on as much powder as the sponges you get. I also find the sponges seem to soak up oil from your skin.
I was once told that different types of foundation (eg block or liquid) suit different types of skin.
