I've tried weed killer and lopping them off and digging down to the roots as well as using some sort of pritt-stick type of weed/-killer on their leaves. Please tell me how to finally get shot of them/it

Many thanks

I used a strong solution of Roundup on mine - takes a few days or so but they have gone. I think you can get it from agricultural suppliers, not sure where mine came from, I got it from my dad who was a farmer so still gets his stuff from farm suppliers. Try Central Wool Growers if there is one near you.

What you need is a systemic (sp?) weedkiller - ie you spray it on the leaves and it goes down to the roots.

aha many thanks BM

Have a contact somewhere in local council with their efficient weed/-killer. (It even kills plants the poor souls)

Hope all goes well with your Sale and hope the FH survives :) xx
If you don`t have too many, why not leave them for the Butterflies to lay eggs on, then you will have lots of Butterflies helping to pollinate your flowers etc?

I cover mine with old carpet to block light & when soil is wet I dig up the roots & burn them.
Got no nettles for the butterflies. Loads of intrusive carex pendula. Not sufficiently fit to dig them out. Leaves very narrow for weedkiller. Son will not allow me napalm!
I got hundreds of "Lords and Ladies" in my garden highley toxic, they must go!!
I haven't seen them for years, ratter - they used to grow in the woods when I was a child.
