I was given a super white phalaenopsis for my birthday (quite an expensive one!) and slowly but surely all the flowers have dropped off and now the leaves are turning pale green and coming off too!
I have kept orchids before, following all the appropriate care instructions, but this one needs rescuing and I don't know how? How can I tell if I've been given a "dud" plant - if there is such a thing?? My previous orchids grew keikis (?) - small leaf growths which I have successfully brought on, so I've done something right! But I am baffled by the state of my present one - any ideas, please?
If it got chilled or over heated on its way to you then it might indeed be a "dud", alternatively it might be getting to the end of its flowering period, again, not your fault.
Thanks for gettingback to me Woofgang. I shall quizmy husband where he kept it before presenting it to me.... if it was in the garage...well,what can I say? The shock may have been too great! Can it still be saved.??
