When's the best time to prune a conifer hedge?
That's it, really. I have a hedge of alternating conifers of two different types - I've no idea what they are, but they aren't leylandii, I'm pretty sure of that. I like to keep the hedge about 4 -5 ft high. It's looking a bit raggedy at the moment, so I'd like to tidy it up now, if it's a good time. But should I wait till autumn? Does it make no difference as they aren't deciduous?
