Roses

I recently bought a rose (Nina Weibull) and planted it according to instructions in my garden. It looks quite healthy. However the only two blooms I've had so far have had a problem with the centre petals being dry and crispy and darker than the outer petals as soon as the buds open.I hoped to have some really pretty roses lasting a few days. I really don't know what is causing this problem and would be grateful for ideas

maybe not enough water better to give a really big soaking to penetrate the deeper soil one watering can full will only go down about a couple of inches I'd water about three cans full every other day to encourage it to send out/develop fine 'rootlets' as they are the bit that draws the water into the plant
