Just got my daughter to de-weed my small front garden. How many bags of wood bark would be needed to give the correct depth to stop weeds etc growing back?
If someone can give me a square meterage per bag that the stuff will cover, that would be great. Thanks.

My own broadband will be back on by Friday. Can't wait.

If you don't put a weed impermeable membrane underneath, you might as well not bother and weed seeds will still germinate in the bark mulch...
And the woodbark scatters in the wind over your path and lawn :-(
Looks good if you top up regularly though.
As woofgang says, make sure you use a membrane, otherwise the weeds will just grow back through the bark.
I'd recommend doubling it up as well, as I've seen weeds penetrate through these membranes.
If I remember correctly, I used something called "weed guard" and I actually trebled it up on my borders .... it's cheap enough to do this and it lets water seep through.
I've just done a quick search and it's available from Wilkinson's for £3.50 for a 8m x 1.5m roll:

Or £16 for a heavy duty 25m x 1m roll:

I use a lot of woodchip to mulch around shubs, I still get a few weeds but they pullup much more easily.
Top it up when it looks like it needs it.

Mine are not so much weeds, but what look like reeds, with broad leaves. Their roots are deep and have to be dug out with a fork.

Thanks,Gizmonster for the links.
