I have a small orchid and it has now finished flowering, do I cut the stem off ?

I was thinking about this yesterday and 'viola' the answer has arrived without me asking.

You can leave the stems alone (unless they turn brown). Quite often new stems will start to grow from along the old stem. This can eventually produce a quite stunning bushy display.
