Does anybody know of a way to get rid of weeds in the block paving, I have heard of caustic soda, some of the brands on the market at the moment are really expensive.

Try cheap household salt in a jug of boiling water

I'd be worried that caustic soda would burn any person or animal that came into contact with it.
I just spray/water regularly using weed killer. The products laughably "boast" or rather admit, they don't last even a year, but what can one do ? (And they seem to come in daft sachets these days which one can not use half of and keep the rest until next time.) Yeah, it is, well caustic so be careful, but you can use caustic soda.

Or there are tools if you want to dig all the weeds out individually.

Thanks for that, yes I was a bit worried about the caustic soda too.
Get a rabbit!

Dont think Riley would be too pleased ummmm.
Is Riley the cat? My cat used to sleep in the rabbits hutch. Anyway...the rabbit has cleared the garden of anything green. Destructive little monster.

Try a local garden maintenance contractor. They have access to industrial strength weed killer, generally RoundUp or Tangent, that will sort the pesky little things out for you.

Because of their strength, the public don't have access to this type of treatment, it certainly worked for me, and is treated just once a year.

Thanks all , am going to try the salt, we have a pressure washer but last time we used it we flooded next doors yard and they were not to happy.
I do my block paving with 'pathclear' about every 9 months. No weeds for the past 10 years.
I use soda crystals 99p per bag at my local chemist - just about 1/4 of the bag in some hot water to dissolve then make up into 2 gallons in watering can - will kill all weeds
I rip them out with aputty knife and use them for compost
I was told white vinegar and fairy liquid, went out and bought three bottles of each, sprayed it and nothing!
One thing I would say is, have a separate watering can clearly marked then you can keep ready mixed weed killer for future application.
Ron - yes good point - I have a red one specifically for the weed killer
