Why Are My Tomatoes Small And Thick-Skinned?
No, it's not a joke!
Grown several varieties in growbags in a sunny greenhouse and they are only just ripening now and they are sooo small, more like big cherry tomatoes and they are delicious but have rather thick skins.
Why?

Last year we bought some plants (probably pre-stressed in the nursery or during transit)and planted them in grow bags outside..a dismal failure. This year grew my own plants from seed, planted them outside in the soul...magnificent crop, am giving them too all and sundry. The big problem with growbags is watering them adequately whereas the soil is much more forgiving.
Mine are also a lot smaller this year ... less than half a kilo each.
