I am thinking of getting one of these, to save the constant unwinding & rewinding of normal garden hose. However I seem to recall there were a lot of poor comments when first introduced. Are the latest ones now considered to be a good buy?

From the reviews on Amazon, the story seems to be that mostly they work at first; but if you look at the poor reviews they are mostly from people who waited a few weeks to review and they all say that they leak :( other issues seem to be that, unlike normal hose, a split cannot be cut out and repaired, and often existing connectors don’t fit although they are...

other issues seem to be that, unlike normal hose, a split cannot be cut out and repaired, and often existing connectors don’t fit although they are described as standard. For me, a better option has been an auto watering system (micro drippers and leaky pipe) I connect the hose to one end of the system as needed.
