Is there a technique for cleanly cutting a wall tile? After numerous attempts all we can achieve is a non uniform cutting edge and in many cases cannot even split the tile. We have tried both the hand held and the type of cutter that operates on a lever principle to no effect. The tiles are of standard size and thickness.
The cutters that screw fix have are very good you may have to go over the cut twice with the wheel before you press the long lever to snap the tile the only way to cut round sockets etc is with a power wheel table HTH Tez
If you've got a tile shop that the trade uses then go in there & buy a decent tile cutter thats made out of metal. Forget the ones made out of plastic, you're wasting your money.
i bought one by plasplugs.its brill (sorry to sound like an anorak) but a small motor with a table and its wet use . i can cut any shape i want with enough time
aldi are doing one this week with a table, saves a lot of bending but if its a one off job or a few tiles you might think its a bit steep at 70, the plasplugs one was 35.
cutting tiles even the thicker floor ones is a doddle but keeping them flat and even on the wall is another subject
