Garden wall
2 Answers
I own a Victorian end terrace house. The garden wall separating my house from my neighbour 's house in the next door end terrace is in my front yard attached to my house, but is in danger of collapse because of a tree on his side of the wall. The tree has been cut down leaving a tree stump, but this has forced my wall out over the past few months and the wall will shortly collapse. I could remove the wall, but the street is on a slope and his garden is about a foot higher than mine. The wall serves as a retaining wall for his garden, and without the wall any rain will wash his garden into my garden. Who is responsible for the wall. Is it his responsibility to shore up the soil in his garden.
Can anyone advise me about the legal side of this please.

Have you asked him to share the costs? Have his tree roots invaded your property? Take photos in preparation to sue if you decide that course.
Wat if you remove the wall and make a nice shrubbery there.....that should p**s him off, especially as you're utilising his soil.
