af'noon,

I've had my acer for about 4 years or so, i'm not sure what "type" it is, but it's reddish in colour, about 3 foot high, not very bushy and lives in a largish pot.

when i came back from holiday the poor thing looked very sorry for itself ie the tips of all the leaves are dry and brown, some have dropped off. I think this could be due to lack of water.

I've watered it and it seems ok but i don't know whether to cut it back or leave it.

can anyone offer any advise.

many thanks

Don`t worry, it`s natural. Look around at the trees and decidious plants, winter is on it`s way. My Acer is doing it also.
