Sweet Williams

I've just emptied my garden of the annuals that have died, and the Sweet Williams that didn't flower this year are still very green and bushy. What will happen to them over winter if I leave them in to flower next year? Will the leaves die or stay green?

Sorry this is rather late just come on line . MySweet Williams have been in my garden for a couple of years now, seem to survive the winter frost just cut back the straggly stems

Thank you - I like to hear from people in real life rather than Googling. I'll leave them as they are for now, they look nice and it's less for me to do. It'll be nice to get flowers for nothing next year - and they smell so good! Off bulb shopping now for spring!

The only thing is Misky, is next year they won't give such a good show. That's why a lot of people just use them as annuals when in fact they're not. Mine seed themselves so I usually pull a few up in May if they look straggly and give room to the new ones.

Thanks for that - I was only planning on using them as annuals in the border I empty every October, but they look so lovely even though they haven't flowered. I'll keep an eye on them. X
