colour!!!

I planted some bulbs last year and they dont appear to have come to anything in fact i think they have disintegrated. They were i think alium or elium....

Now I want to plant up something in the pots to give some colour and will come up every year any ideas you gardners out there?

have you checked in the pots as it is a bit early for Alliums so they may just not have sprouted yet. They dont flower until May/June so may just be a little early.

I have actually tipped the pot out and it doesnt seem tobe there Strange as ai said I think it has just got too wet and disintegrated i suppose that may happen.?
yes, they can rot off if too wet and the drainage is not good enough or if you jut had a bad bulb to begin with.

Bulbs in pots are usually very reliable so worth trying again making sure you have a good bulb to start with and good drainage in the pot.

Anything you want to put in for some colour that will come up year after year will not look so good when not in flower so you are best to re-plant for fresh colour. Alternatively you could put in some evergreen flowering shrubs which will look good all year and give colour.
