I've grown some borlotti beans on my allotment, but I have plenty left over now. I'm sure I read that they could be dried and stored, but I'm not sure how to do either. Can anyone please advise? Thanks.
As with any beans of similar type, leave them on the plant as long as possible. At least until the pods are dry and turning brown. When they are almost crisp to the touch, harvest them and then simply shell them into a container.
I'd let them set in a warm, dry location in the kitchen for a week or so after shelling to assure they are dried, then you can cover the container. Properly dried and stored they're good for at least year...
