Connector for outside tap
We have an old house with an outside tap for the garden.
Unfortunately, we cannot seem to get a tap connector to fit on to it.
The tap has a thread, but any of the connectors we have tried do not seem to engage with the thread , so don't attach.
We used to have one that worked , but it broke off.(Probably due to old age).
The tap looks perfectly normal , if old, and should fit a half inch connector.
Anyone got any ideas ?
Thanks. :-))

You can get muilt 2/3/4 way hose lock connectors i.e. they have like 3 taps instead of 1, if ladyalex needs a 1/2inch adapter like doc says they could get this type?

I've had a look at all of your suggestions and suspect that either we'll have to try the connector with the clip-tightener or get a new tap fitted.
The problem is that any screw on connectors that we have tried do not engage the thread, so do not screw on.
The tap must be 50 years old at least, if that is relevant.
