Palm Tree
My palm tree is looking very sad, it looks to be rotting from the top, and the leaves are dropping off downwards, have I lost it ?,or, is there hope? it might revive itself. I didnt wrap anything around it for the winter, so thats probably why. I am sure some of you good people out there will let me know. kind regards.

Palms were relatively rare and it used to be recommended that palm branches be gathered together and wrapped in sacking to help it through the winter...................but with the onset of 'global warming' there has been a massive influx of palms and a reduction in 'good gardening practice'.
If it is a cordyline then chances are that the frost and snow will have possibly killed the top of it. However it is likely that the root is okay and if this is the case it should put up some green shoots off the sides of the main 'trunk' in Spring / Summer. You can then cut down the old main stem and leave the new 'cluster' which I think is far more attractive than a single stem plant. If it is not a cordyline then it would be helpful if you could give a detailed description of what the plant looked like.
