Damp in bedroom wardrobes.
4 Answers
The bedroom wardrobes at the gable end of our house have a damp smell and whilst there is no fungus on the walls, some shoes in the wardrobe have fungus on them. Any advice?
Also we notice that there is a damp smell in our hallway just inside the front door. We only get the smell when we have been away for a while. We dont notice it the same once we are in the house for a while.
Any advice would be appreciated.

It's difficult to guess about the hallway, but the wardrobes are easily sorted with adding crossflow ventilation.
Fit simple plastic/aluminium vents into the doors. Better still, wardrobe doors should ideally be cut short of the carpet, maybe 30-40mm gap.
Then fit same size vents in the ceiling, with the insulation cleared to give a throughflow.
Or, fit the vents through the exterior wall.
