I was one of the owners of an Indesit tumbledryer which went on fire. The company took two years to respond to my claim, and their representative was very surly.
Since then, I have replaced my dryer, washing machine and fridge freezer with Bosch brand. All are, I believe, better performing and more reliable than other brands i have experience of.

I've had two Hotpoint fridges - one lasted 10 years and I sold the other last year after 8 yrs service.
One Whirlpool Dishwasher - 10 yrs and one Whirlpool washing machine - 10 yrs before they knackered.
Replaced 2nd fridge with a larger Samsung last year and "new" Bosch dishwasher and washing machine still going strong after 7 yrs.
So Whirlpoool I wouldn't knock - just don't buy Hoover/Candy - absolute junk.
