Miele is the one. They are built to last too. They are French. Mieie is actually French for honey. German is honig.

I've got a Phillips Marathon with turbo brush and it's fantastic for picking up the hairs shed by my long haired dog. So much so that when my previous one was 'drowned' when we were flooded last year I mamaged without one (I borrowed one), until I could get another marathon.
that's amazing I must keep buying the rare good ones that they produce!!

This was the first question I asked on AB and I've never regretted taking the advice I was given to buy a Miele, Max is a long haired GSD and the Meile handles his cast hair with no problem at all
