The tubes/pipe from my washing machine gets a load of gummy stuff in - is this due to the type of detergent being used does anyone know? Can I stop it building up? I've heard you can put vinegar i the wash - what type? Stuff in the shops seems to be white wine vinegar - is this the stuff?
I've heard this is a problem with some detergents when used on reduced temperatures. It's been recommended to run your machine every now and then empty, on a high temperature wash cycle to flush these deposits through. Wouldn't like to recommend any sort of flushing agent, I'll leave that to those on here who will know!
We've switched to liquid detergent and run the machine empty on a high temp once a month and it solved it. You can also run a limescale remover at the same time if you have hard water.
