How much to extend lease on 3 bedroomed house?
I would be very interested in any information as to roughly how much it would cost to extend the lease on my property. I think I have about 55yrs left on the lease and the property is valued at approximately £130,000. Am I right in believing that you HAVE to appoint a solicitor to do the necessary work and that the amount of ground rent will increase if you extend the lease?

They seem to indicate they can offer advice to these sorts of questions by phone or email, but yes the GR goes up when you extend the lease.
There's a approximate calculator for cost increase in GR if you put your current parameters in - you'll have to estimate the no. of years outstanding as 60yrs as it doesn't work for less than that.

Although I don't know the answer to your question I thought I would interject with my miniscule piece of knowledge on leases.
I was always under the impression that any property with less than 70 yrs left on a lease was very difficult if not nigh on impossible to sell and the advice was always to get an extencion before it went on the market.
