Hi AB legal eagles out there ... I'm just posting to ask if anyone knows how much notice a tenant has to give when he/she wishes to leave a rented property. A month? more? And is there a legal document that has to be completed, or can the tenant just write a letter to the landlord that he/she wishes to quit on a certain date? Hope you can help, many thanks, Cheers, Chox.

I'm confused!

You asked exactly the same question before and I answered it, supporting my answer with a link to an authoritative source:

So I'm not sure as to what further information it is that you're now seeking.
I trhink I answered it as well
read the lease - if there is no tenant break clause then you should wait until the end of the lease ( and pay ) but things are always negotiable

if it is a run-on lease then it is the period of the rent - monthly rent, give a months notice

and ..... since then
one of my tenants have given 8 d notice to leave on 15th Jan
and my main fear is that .... she will decide to stay on.

Possession is the great thing - move on, cut losses and let it to someone who wants to live there and pay rent
