Gas meter
7 Answers
Our gas meter ticks round, albeit slowly, even if no gas is being used. This doesn't strike me as right. I have noticed since our meter was changed our gas bills have been higher. Does a meter naturally tick round even if no gas is being used or are we being conned here?

Hope this makes sense.
hi, i read this with interest as I'm having the same problem, i found that due to my quarterly bill of nearly 121 (to heat a one bed flat) i could not afford to use the heating so I've been using electric to heat the water and jumpers to keep warm, then i found that it cost 31 a quarter just to have the pilot light on, so i switched that off too, i got my bill in this week.........its 22..... somehow the meter has clocked 45 units even though all gas appliances are switched off at the pilot light, i have now turned the handle off at the mains to see if the meter still keeps counting, in the mean time I'm not sure how I'm going to convince anyone that i didn't use the gas, think its going to have to be a watchdog investigation,
