As we are both non-smokers,and lived in our house for over sixty years is there any new law to help us with our neighbours who smoke but only smoke in the garden next to their fence which is about three feet away from our patio doors,so when thesun is out we have our patio door open and then find we can smell smoke in our garden which drifts into our front room.
I have had a word with the lady next door to ask them if they could go down to the bottom of the garden to smoke but all they have done is to pull there table to nearer their patio door and still smoke,we can still smell the smoke.
What if anything can I do,I have done them a few favours in the past ,all I ask is one favour ?????
Lofty, I think that both of us should give up now before we become too creased with laughter and things become so surreal that we need to call upon Molly to restore some sanity to the proceedings.
Have just done a virtual tour in my mind of my 3 bedroomed house - roughly speaking one is never more than 4 foot from an ashtray, bathroom included. However, may I add that I loathe to see dirty ashtrays, just wish they had put a bigger one in the car ;o)
Dont want to bring race into this but what if your neighbours were foreign and had a barbecue every saturday night with food you didnt like the smell of? would you complain?
We have to put up with the smell of chicken sh1t being spread on the fields all round us!! It's the most horrendous smell ever and it gets all over the house, even with the windows closed. I wonder if I should comlain to the farm!!
If my neighbours were foreign and had a barbecue every Saturday night then out of sheer politeness I would say, "G'day Bruce and Sheila! Throw a few more prawns on the barbie and crack us open a couple of tinnies!"
Must be lovely though Lottie when the snow is deep and crisp and even? When your own breath freezes in the nostrils, and chickens are running around to find out which way the wind isn't blowing?
