Stopping an unwanted phone call!
8 Answers
Not sure if this is the right section but here goes. We keep getting called by a company trying to get in touch with our son. Now for various reasons we are not really in touch with him and getting a message to him is quite difficult. We explained this to the caller and eventually did get a message to the son. He then wrote to the company asking them not to get in touch with us. Ok, so the question is, is there any way in which we can get the number blocked? We do not answer the calls but they do leave messages.

I've just entered the 2 numbers they use as 'do not answer' and reject the calls. Not sure I can do much from a mobile but a landline is different I think. What about the telephone preference service? Have a look on their site. It has made a massive difference to the calls I get on my landline.
Get their address and write to them; explain that they have already been informed in writing that, as a third party, this is nothing to do with you.
Give them 14 days, from the date of your letter, to desist calling.
Tell them that after that date *any* sort of communication from them will attract a £ 25 administration charge and you will be billing them on a weekly basis.
If they *do* continue to contact you, make a note of time and date of telephone calls (and any other pertinent details) and draw up an invoice and send it to them.
But I think you'll be pleasantly surprised to find that they stop ringing.............:o)
