I have a potterton envoy gas boiler, about 12 years old - and its just stopped working - starts up and then fails, again and again, I cant seem to keep it going - keep pressing reset button.

Does any one know how long these boilers last? Is it a repair job or just get a new one? And if I need a new one - how much will it cost to have a new one installed. Help ?

Hard to say really. You need to get a heating engineer to have a look.

I used to work for a plumber/heating engineer....to supply a fit a Worcester Bosch was approx £1,600.

That was a few years ago now so prices might have gone up. You can also get cheaper boilers.
Hi
What model is it exactly.
See if you can get an idea from this forum thread ..

Have you a lockout light .. or is it lighting then cutting off after a few seconds?
This is going to need a boiler guy I think!

Hi thanks for that - I did look at the link too - which was helpful. Now to find a decent and honest gas engineer to look at it - I am like a lamb to the slaughter
