Central heating Pump

The pump that works the central heating system can be very noisy at times, although not all the time. Does anyone know if this is a sign that it is wearing out? As previously mentioned am thinking of cancelling my British Gas Appliance contract as it is becoming very expensive and they never do the annual service very well, after all how can they in 10 minutes? Obviously better to leave it another year if the pump is about to go? Thanks

Thanks for your comments docspock, explains why they keep on wanting to flush the system (£700.00) and according to them it is not my pump, typical British Gas. The radiators downstairs are taking longer to heat so perhaps this is why. Anyway decided to cancel British Gas contract and get a recommended plumber to have a look.
