My toilet cistern takes a painfully long time to refill. Just wondering if replacing the ball valve might make a worthwhile difference. Thanks for any advice.

Had a slowfill cistern for 7 years. Great fun when the 4 of us went down with urgent use of toilet required.
Plumbers have been in and out, ball-c0cks replaced, until yestrday when they (council) finally gave us a working toilet.

Fills quicker than previous too.
has it been fitted with a flexi coupling on the inlet ? this can be a serious problem if its gravity fed not mains...

Thanks to all. No flexi coupling.

Just tried a new washer and it has made a huge difference. Always worth a try, I guess!
