clock battery

i have a clock which says that only mallory manganese batteries should be used in it . these are unobtainable in my home town ,can i use alkaline or lithium without damaging the clock ,thanks in advance

Mallory was the name of the Duracell company years ago (1930s), so that parts just telling you to use a certain brand (that doesn't exist any more)
manganese batteries are alkaline batteries, so yes you can use an alkaline battery in it as that's what it's telling you to do :)
